Characteristics: The adult body is 6 to 7 mm long, with a wingspan of 12 to 16 mm. The front and rear wings are slender and have very long fringes. The front and rear wings have yellowish-white three-dimensional zigzag wavy patterns. When the wings are closed, there are three consecutive diamond-shaped spots. The forewings have long and raised fringe hairs like chicken tails. The antennae are filamentous, brown with white stripes, and extend forward when stationary.The female is larger than the male, and the end of the abdomen is cylindrical, while that of the male is conical, and the gripper is slightly open.
Main hazards: Cabbage, purple cabbage, broccoli, sprouts, mustard, cauliflower, cabbage, rape, radish and other cruciferous plants.The first-instar larvae only feed on the mesophyll, leaving the epidermis behind, forming transparent spots on the vegetable leaves, "opening the skylights". The 3rd to 4th-instar larvae can eat holes and nicks in the vegetable leaves. In severe cases, the entire leaf is eaten into a mesh.In the seedling stage, damage is often concentrated on the central leaves, affecting the core.
